… and free traffic from high search engine (SE) rankings is the best kind. I am currently trying to work out which topic or area of interest would be best to write about to begin my internet business.
Many web sites offer to sell products that help you to “set up a pre-built site, plaster pay-per-click and affiliate links all over it and then sit back and watch the money roll in”. My concern with this business model is that without being passionate about the site and its content I will always struggle to write fresh, new content AND fail to convince my visitors of the value of what I offer/endorse. This style of website will make some money, but not a lot and not for long.
A few isolated people recommend a different model. Their’s is one that requires a significant amount of planning, research and specialisation in a narrow topic area. This is one of the keys to obtaining high volume search engine traffic – free traffic. Not only is it free, the people on the other side of the mouse click are actually looking for the information on my site!
This is called organic traffic. Traffic that finds its way to your website without being purchased through one of the many paid avenues for attracting visitors.
